About this deal

It's really nothing very special. The opening is upbeat which fits Sekaiichi Hatsukoi considering this anime is a lighthearted romance/comedy, and the ending is more serene. As for voice acting, it was simply alright. The ukes sounded girly and whiny and the semes sounded manly and rough. Too bad that, like the art, everyone sounded the same. It was a mediocre performance on the seiyuu's parts.

Welp I wrote way too much about this short little cute manga but yeah, then I come at its main con. It’s just very short :P. Not necessarily a bad thing but it does make the manga a little less “worthy” for a good grading because the story simply can’t evolve as much as some of the best romance manga out there (refering to Blue Flag for example). But it doesn’t feel rushed at all and has a nice ending so I’d recommend it to anyone, any time. (Anyone who is interested in romance manga at least, lol) Then we have the “simple” Ida Kousuke, the second ML of this manga! I put simple between quotation marks because people might think he is a simple person, he just thinks differently than others. Sometimes he can be slow-witted but he just thinks things through! He shows his love differently than others but that doesn’t mean his feelings are less than others :). He might be quite different than Aoki, they match incredible well in my opinion.

Interest Stacks

Aug 1, 2016 - The light novel The Case of Takafumi Yokozawa omnibus volume was released. This is a re-release of the original volumes 1 and 2. It never rains but it pours" is the eleventh episode of the Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi anime series. The episode focuses on the relationship between Ritsu Onodera and Masamune Takano. Some may argue that this anime is just another BL anime focused on fanservice for the girls. While I'm not totally denying this, I do have to say that there's more than meets the eye when it comes to Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Unlike Junjou Romantica where it's just SEXSEXILOVEYOUSEXSEX every episode, this actually has a pretty good story. Then we have Akkun Aida! A really good friend but sometimes a tiny bit annoying. Throughout the story he evolves a lot and learns many things, and he is a great character overall. Not my personal favorite but still very likeable 😀 Onodera Ritsu has just transferred from his father's publishing company to Marukawa Shoten. Assigned to the shoujo manga division, he crosses path with the person he'd least expected to meet. Takano Masamune is the editor-in-chi...... MORE Sekaiichi Hatsukoi ~Onodera Ritsu no Baai~

There are also two other couples in this show; their stories are shown in later episodes. The characters follow Onodera's fellow editors: Hatori and his longtime friend (and manga artist he's in charge of) Yoshino, as well as Kisa and the attractive bookstore employee he has his eye on, Yukina. Onodera wakes up in the doorway, still holding on to a store-bought dinner, and suddenly remembers a meeting that he was to sit in during the morning. On the subway, he complains about his lifestyle after joining the shōjo manga department. Onodera is surprised by the hostility in the proposal meeting and dreads future meetings. Afterwards, Onodera meets Sumi Ryouichi (father of Sumi Keiichi from Junjo Romantica), whom he was in charge of before in the literature department at his father's company. Through Sumi, Onodera also meets Hasegawa of the literature department, who later dropped in during work and invited him out for a drink. Takano, hearing the invitation, rejected it for Onodera. After commenting on Takano's strictness, Hasegawa reminds Onodera that he can always transfer to the literature department. Later, Onodera encounters Takano at the library and tries to run away. Takano saves him from falling down the stairs as Onodera trips on fallen leaves and they embrace. Takano tries to evoke past memories from the time when they were dating in high school, but Onodera runs again. At the apartment, Onodera encounters Yokozawa coming out from Takano's room with his cat, Sorata. Yokozawa confronts him and claims Takano as his, and further throws Onodera into confusion by recounting how Onodera had only hurt Takano since they have known each other. NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT!". I looked forward to watching a new episode every week, but it simply didn't astound me like some other anime has done. I'd still consider it a favorite, but objectively speaking there are quite a few weaknesses within this series.

I found Hatsukoi to have a surprisingly good sense of humor, and for me that is what I enjoyed the most. However, this pretty much disappeared as things got more serious farther into the stories which is a shame. With the waning of the humor the show turned, metaphorically, into the Uke crying rape and leaving the Seme to scratch their heads at the situation. Seriously, I thought that the female tsunderes were bad, but the male ones can be just as annoying. It's good. Many attractive bishies and stuff. Woo. However, one of my gripes is that all the ukes basically look the same (sneering expression, big eyes, short). Same can be said about the semes.

Written and illustrated by Shungiku Nakamura, Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi began serialization in the November 2006 issue of The Ruby magazine, which went on sale October 13, 2006. It moved to Asuka Ciel magazine in July 2009 where it continued through May 2014. Publisher Kadokawa announced in May 2014 that it would launch a real-life version of the Emerald manga magazine from Shungiku Nakamura's Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi manga. As of August 2014, Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi and Nakamura's other manga Junjou Romantica have switched publications to Emerald magazine.
